TagTheora

A very, very simple python script that uses Mutagen to change the tags (metadata) of a Theora video file. It needs no compiling or manual reading. You can change the title, artist, album, license, copyright, date and location. You can input pretty much anything (it will use unicode). This software was written in a few minutes, out of the frustration of not finding any tool that did this in February 2007. Come on.

Thomas Petazzoni kindly provided a patch to enhance the code and make it less linear, Paolo Melchiore provided a small patch to add the "comment" tag and David Rogers provided a nice debian/ubunt package.

TagTheora is free and open source software distributed under the GNU GPL license.

Grab the source code or the deb package! (version 0.2.1)

There is also a third-party GUI (depends on "kaptain") here, thanks to Hanspeter Niederstrasser.
